A project to underground utilities in parts of Kensington is scheduled to begin this year. Wires for electrical, telephone, cable TV and Internet will be removed and put in trenches in the streets and alleys. New wiring for street lights will be installed. Electrical transformers, switch boxes and other equipment will be installed in rights of way and easements. The location of these facilities is important to the aesthetics of the community. Homeowners will have an opportunity to review and comment on the placement of facilities during the undergrounding planning process.

This is a large project and will involve lots of decisions. You can make this project a success by getting involved now. This website provides a community forum and information about the project. We will update the website as the project progresses.
